The Impact of Family Transformations on Students’ Academic Performance A Field Sociological Study in the Light of Selected Social Variables

Abstract
This study seeks to reveal the impact of family transformations in their various forms
on students' academic performance, based on the family being the primary social
institution. which shapes the child's personality and determines his educational path.
The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach, using the questionnaire as the
primary tool for collecting data.A purposive sample of 45 male and female students
from various educational levels (elementary, middle, and secondary) from families that
had experienced family transitions. The study concluded that family transitions
represent a fundamental factor. While explaining the decline in school performance, it
also highlighted that school and extracurricular activities remain an important
compensatory space for students, helping them adapt to family and social pressures.
The study recommends The need to enhance psychological and educational support for
affected students, and support economically and socially vulnerable families, while
working to strengthen the role of schools as an alternative incubator that provides a safe
and stimulating environment for learning.
