Innovative Approaches to Teaching Descriptive Texts in English: Acronym-Based Discovery Learning
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study investigates the effectiveness of acronym-based discovery learning in enhancing students' abilities to write descriptive texts in English. The research employs an experimental design involving control and experimental groups, with pre-tests and post-tests to measure the outcomes. Participants in the experimental group were taught using acronym-based discovery learning techniques, while the control group followed traditional teaching methods. The results indicate a significant improvement in the descriptive writing skills of students in the experimental group compared to those in the control group. These findings suggest that acronym-based discovery learning is a highly effective pedagogical approach for teaching descriptive texts in English, offering valuable insights for educators aiming to improve student writing proficiency.
