Abstract

The current study addresses the topic of the effect of oral language on the
growth and development of executive functions in hearing-impaired individuals with
cochlear implants, aged between 6 and 10 years. The study aimed to reveal the effect
of the degree of oral language development on the development of executive
functions. To achieve the objectives of this study, the descriptive approach with a
correlational study was adopted. Both the Oral Language Assessment Test (ELO) and
the Rapid Frontal Assessment Battery were applied to a sample of 10 cases that were
selected purposively from those being followed up at the White Bridge Hospital in
Annaba. The results showed that the degree of oral language affects the degree of
executive functions in hearing-impaired individuals with cochlear implants.
