Paths for Knowing Abrogation

Abstract
The topic of abrogation (Naskh) among Islamic legal theorists (Usuli scholars) is one of the most critical and precise subjects that requires careful academic scrutiny. While the relationship between the general (Aam) and the specific (Khaas) pertains to explanation and interpretation, the relationship between the abrogating (Nasikh) and the abrogated (Mansukh) involves the termination, cancellation, and nullification of one by the other. Thus, research on the subject of abrogation ultimately leads to either affirming or negating a particular ruling.
One of the most important issues in the study of abrogation is the methods and evidence used to identify abrogation. Through these methods, the abrogating can be distinguished from the abrogated, even if the abrogating verse appears earlier in the arrangement of the Quran rather than in its revelation. This and other related topics will be presented and substantiated in this research titled "Methods for Identifying Abrogation."
