The Physician of the Abbasid Caliphate, Thabit Ibn Qurra, Died in 288 AH / 900 AD his Biography and Medical Works

Abstract

This historical study is about the distinguished physician of the city of Harran from the Mandaeans in the Abbasid era, whose number of works reached 37 books, as the people of the covenant from the Mandaeans and Christians in the city of Harran were people of knowledge in the science of medicine, mathematics, astronomy, astrology, translation, and others.

The Abbasid caliphs brought them close and honored them with high ranks and valuable gifts and facilitated the means of living for them, so they were reassured and came to Baghdad, the capital of the Abbasid state and the center of science and scholars, and all of this was separate from their religion and ethnic affiliation, and this means spreading the spirit of peaceful coexistence and religious tolerance among the components of the Arab Islamic society.
